On March 15, 1841, Charles Stebbins used as collateral on a promissory note of $325 to Joseph C. Wilkins, both of Liberty County, “a Negro Woman named Grace about forty years of age.” Witnessed by W.B. [last name hard to read], T.W. Quarterman, J.P. Recorded on May 10, 1841, by E. Way, Clerk.
