Gaulden used as collateral on a promissory note of $2304 to R & W King of Savannah “the following Negro Slaves viz, Larkin, Smart, Diana, Elsey, Paul, Alfred, Prince, Lucretia…” Witnessed by E. Way, E. Stacy, J.I.C.L.C. Recorded on June 9, 1840, by E. Way, Clerk. [NOTE: Written on this deed was “Received satisfaction in full 7th April 1841 R & W King. Recorded this 21st April 1841. E. Way Clerk.”]
