In the Name of God Amen I George Cubbadge of the Coloney of Georgia being thro’ the Abundant Mercy and Goodness of God I being in perfect Health and understaning and memory, do constuite this my last Will and Testament, and desire it may be Received by all as such Imprimus, Most Humbly bequeath my Soul to God my Maker, beseeching his most Gracious Acceptance of it through the all Sufficient Merits and Meditation of my most Compassionate Redeemer Jesus Crist who gave himself to be an Atonement for my sins, and is able to save to the uttermost all that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make Intercession for them, and who I trust will not reject me A returning penitent Sinner, when I come to him for Mercy in this Hope and Confidence I Render up my Soul with Comfort, humbly becheeching the most blessed Trinity one God most holy most Mercyful and Gracious to prepair me for the Time of my Dissolution, and then to take me to himself into that Peace and rest, and Incomparable Felicity, which he has prepair’d for all that love and fear his Holy Name Amen.
Blessed be God, Imprimis I give my Body to the Earth from whence it was taken in full Assurance of the Resurrection from thence at the Last Day, as for my Burial I desire it may be Decent, without Pomp or State, at the Discresion of my Dear Beloved wife Elizabeth Cubbadge, and my Executor my Sone John Cubbadge who I doubt not, will manage it with requisite Prudence. As to my worldly estate I will and positively order that all my Debts be paid.
Item I give to my beloved Wife for Term of Life this House wherein I now dwell with all the Furniture and Lands and Tenements that lay about it. Likewise Fife Neagors [Negros] nam’d as follows Munday [alt: Monday], Smbo [alt: Sambo], Debborer [alt: Deborah?] Jemey [alt: Jemmy] and Grace and if the Neagor Wench Debborer should have any more Children they are to be at my Wife’s disposal.
Item and after Her Death the fife Neagors before mention’d to be Divided between my two Gran Sons George and John Cubbage.
Item After my Beloved wife’s death the house Tenements and Land containing fife Hundred Acres Cal’d by the Name of Linkhorn to be left to my Gransone George Cubbadge and Heirs and Assigns for Ever.
Item I leave to my Sone John Cubbadge three Neagor men nam’d as follows Drymis Cato & Tom. Likewise I leave him Twenty Head of Cattel and Tenn head of Hors Kind.
Whereas I on this to be my Last Will and Testament whereof I set my Hand and Seal Before Theas Witnesses This Eight Day of Desember in the Year of Our Lord God one Thousand Seven Hundred and Fiftey Eight In the Thirty first year of His Maj. King George the Sec’d Reign.
