Enslaved Persons Named: Bob, Peggy, Elizabeth

On November 6, 1832, Bartholomew Busby, Liberty County, guardian of Abiel Winn a minor son of Peter F. Winn, late of Liberty County, sold to Peter W. Fleming, also of Liberty County, for $1100 “Negro Slaves, namely, Bob Peggy and Elizabeth…” Busby cited as his authority to sell a September 3, 1832, order by the Court of Ordinary, and said he had advertised them in the public gazettes, then put them up for public sale at the Liberty County cour house on the first Tuesday of the month, and Peter W. Fleming was the “highest and best” bidder. Witnessed by L.B. Daniel, E. Baker, C.S.C.L.C. Recorded on March 12, 1840, by E. Way, Clerk.
