On February 18, 1847, E. Stacy used as collateral on a promissory note of $417.30 to Margaret Winn, both of Liberty County, “the following negro slaves viz Old Billy and Henry.” Witnessed by Thos. [Thomas] Q. Cassels, W.E.W. Quarterman, J.I.C. Recorded on March 2, 1847, by J.S. Bradwell, Clerk. [NOTE: Written on this deed was “Satisfied in full on the this 4 July 1851. J. Wilson Winn for Mrs. M.W. Winn. Recorded 22 July 1851. J.S. Bradwell, Clerk.”]
