On May 13, 1847, William S. Norman, Liberty County, used as collateral on a promissory note of $540.79 to Robert Habersham and William Neyle Habersham, Chatham County, trading under the name Robert Habersham & Son, “all that tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in the county of Liberty and State aforesaid, commonly known by the name of the Norman upper Plantation containing five hundred acres, also the following negro slaves Judy, Billy, and Hagar.” Witnessed by Thomas S. Wayne, Mickli Ofet Burne, Notary Public. Recorded May 24, 1847, by J.S. Bradwell, Clerk. [NOTE: Written on this deed was a note directing J.S. Bradwell, Clerk of Liberty County Superior Court, to mark the deed as satisfied in full as of May 13, 1847.]
