On September 29, 1846, Amarintha M. Stevens, Liberty County, gifted to her son William C. Stevens, Liberty County, “a certain negro boy named Charles of yellow complexion, fourteen years of age, the property of said Amarinthia M. Stevens.” [NOTE: Her name spelled both Amarintha and Amarinthia in this deed.] Witnessed by H.M. Stevens, S.A. Fraser, J.I.C. Recorded on Mfarch 18, 1847, by J.S. Bradwell, Clerk.
