On March 16, 1846, John Stevens, Liberty County, sold for $1000 to Joseph Quarterman, also of Liberty County, “three certain negro slaves named Tenah, Betty [or possibly Betsy] and her child Edward…” Witnessed by W.C. Stevens, J.S. Bradwell, Clk Sup. Court. Recorded on October 21, 1846, by J.S. Bradwell, Clerk.
