On April 1, 1846, John S. Norman and W.E.W. Quarterman used as collateral on a promissory note of $100 to the executors of John Lambert’s estate (Thomas Mallard, E. Stacy, W.Q. Baker, W. Jones & John B. Mallard) “the following named slaves to wit George about eleven years of age…” Witnessed by John W. Stacy, S.A. Fraser, J.I.C.L.C. Recorded on April 15, 1844, by J.S. Bradwell, Clerk. [NOTE: Written on this deed was “Satisfied this 1st day of March 1851. E. Stacy, act. Exor of Est. John Lambert. Entered this 9th July 1855. S.A. Fraser, Clerk.”]
