On March 4, 1845, Edward J. Delegal, Liberty County, used as collateral on a promissory note of $2274.45 to George W. Walthour, Liberty County, “the following named negro Slaves viz Hamlet, Jim, Joshua, Singleton, Moses, Princess, Nelly, Henry (?), Charlotte & Pompey…” Witnessed by W.G. Thomson, G.W. Dunham, J.I.C.L.C. Recorded on May 15, 1845, by J.S. Bradwell, Clerk.
