On February 7, 1845, E.H. Bacon [probably Edwin Henry Bacon], Liberty County, used as collateral on a promissory note of $1500 to Mrs. Sarah H. Bacon, guardian of Augustus O. Bacon, minor, “the following negro slaves viz Cracker, Joe, Caesar, Frank, Kate, Patty, Robert, Israel, Rosanna, Abram, Little Cracker, Tenah, Harry, George, Newton, Cuff, Canib & big Camb…” Witnessed by Oliver Stevens, William Hart. Recorded on March 19, 1845. [NOTE: Written on this deed was “Satisfied in full 8th December 1851. S.H. Bacon, Guardian. Recorded this 1st March 1852. S.A. Fraser, Clerk.”]
