Comments: “Account of sales of Personal & Part of Real Est. of Wm. H. Hendry deceased at public outcry before the Court House door in Hinesville on the first Tuesday in August being the 6th day August.” As well as Isaac, also sold was ⅙ of 1150 acres land on which J.A. & R. A. Hendry reside, purchased by L.B. Hendry, and ⅓ of 650 acres land known as Grass Bay Tract purchased by L.B. Hendry. [NOTE: Looks clearly like “Grass Bay” here, but looked like “Cross Bay” in the estate inventory.] Also see the preceding document, which was a sale of other goods belonging to the William H. Hendry estate on December 1, 1849.

These antebellum estate inventories and appraisals generally included all the deceased person’s “property,” including enslaved persons. Only those names are documented here for historical and genealogical purposes. Anyone interested in the actual property owned by the deceased may find it at the link at the bottom of the page. Names are listed in the original order, as this often gives very valuable information about family groupings or the age of children (who may be listed in age order).
