On December 17, 1842, Eli Bradley used as collateral on a promissory note of $240 to Robert Hendry and Newman Bradley, all of Liberty County, “a Negro Woman named Mary about 25 years of age and her female Child Hester and their increase.” Witnessed by E. Daniel, L.B. Daniel. Recorded by January 25, 1843, by E. Way, Clerk.
