On September 3, 1842, John S. Norman, Liberty County, used as collateral on a promissory note of $379.60 to George W. Anderson and Brother, Chatham County, “a certain Negro woman named Bellah about twenty one years old and her child about four years old named Abram…” Witnessed by John E. Mann, S.A. Fraser, J.I.C.L.C. Recorded on November 8, 1842, by E. Way, Clerk. [NOTE: Written on this deed was “Satisfied in full 6th August 1844. J.S. Bradwell, Clerk.”]
