Enslaved Persons Named: Andrew

On February 7, 1854, S.A. Fraser, agent for Isabella Bradwell, executrix of the estate of James S. Bradwell, sold to E.F. Way “a Negro man Slave named Andrew.” Fraser had applied to the Liberty County Court of Ordinary for permission to sell Andrew, and had received it, and had “exposed [him] to public sale at Hinesville” on the first Tuesday of February 1854, where he “was knocked off” to E.F. Way for $1410, the highest bid. Witnessed by C. Hines, E. Way, and W.E.W. Quarterman J.I.C.L.C. Recorded on February 7, 1854, by [Liberty County Superior Court] Clerk S.A. Fraser.
