Enslaved Persons Named: Abram, Jim, Scipio

On January 30, 1852, William E. Screven, Liberty County, used as collateral on a promissory note of $1000 to Messrs Anderson and Co of the city of Savannah, Chatham County, ‘the following property to wit: a negro fellow named Abram of black complexion twenty six years of age six feet high, also a negro fellow named Jim of black complexion twenty eight years of age five feet ten inches high, also a negro fellow named Scipio of black complexion thirty years of age five feet eight inches high.” Witnessed by W.D. Bacon, J.S. Bradwell, C.S.C.L.C. Recorded on January 31, 1852.
