On June 3, 1851, John S. Andrews, Liberty County, used as collateral on a promissory note of $500 to J. Wilson Winn, guardian for the minors of Q. Way, Liberty County, “the following negro slaves and tract of land known as the Goulding trust purchased lately from the heirs of Mrs. E. Winn de ceasue containing two hundred and twenty nine acres more or less.” [NOTE: The slaves mentioned were not named within the document.] Witnessed by J.S. Bradwell. Recorded on September 2, 1851.
