On June 4, 1851, W.W. Johnston, of Chatham County, sold to William Harrison for $575 “my negro girl Pender about fifteen years old…” Witnessed by Jos. M. Boggs, B.G. O-Bryan [Chatham County]. [NOTE: This deed was executed in Chatham County but also recorded in Liberty COunty, on August 4, 1851.]
