On March 26, 1851, Bartholomew A. Busby, Liberty County planter, sold to Charles B. Jones and James N. Jones, trustees for Dr. George Maxwell and his wife Augusta, for $725 “the following negro man slave named Dick.” Witnessed by Henry H. Jones, S.A. Fraser J.I.C.L.C. Recorded on April 10, 1851.
