On February 15, 1851, J.S. Bradwell, Liberty County, used as collateral on a promissory note of $400 to Richard F. Axson, Liberty County, “”the following negro slaves fiz Clarissa aged about twenty two and Louisa aged about twenty together with their future issue and increase…” Witnessed by W.T.E. Baker, S.A. Fraser, J.I.C.L.C. Recorded on February 28, 1851. [Written on this deed was: “Received this 17th April 1854 payment in full. Rich. F. Axson. Entered this 17th April 1854. S.A> Fraser, Clerk.”]
