On July 20, 1850, E.B. Way and H.W. Bacon used as collateral on a promissory note of $271.50 to the executor of John Lambert’s estate (Thos. Mallard, William Q. Baker, Ezra Stacy, John B. Mallard, and William Jones) “the following named negro Slaves, with the issue of the females, Lindy, Chloe and Betsy.” Witnessed by Jas. S. Bradwell, S.A. Fraser, J.I.C.L.C. Recorded on October 2, 1850. [NOTE: Marked on the deed was “Satisfied, W.Q. Baker, Exor. Entered this 1st July 1854. S.A. Fraser, Clerk.”]
