On August 1, 1850, Joseph A. Anderson, Liberty County, used as colalteral on a promissory note $1000 to James N. Jones, Liberty County, “the following named negro slaves viz James aged 34 years July aged 30 years Friday aged 17 years big Lucy aged 30 years and little Lucy aged 24 years together with the issue and increase of the female slaves…” Witnessed by Joseph C. Wilkins, N.P., G. Troup Maxwell. Recorded on October 14, 1850. [NOTE: Written on this deed was “Satisfied this 1st March 1853. J.N. Jones. Recorded this 1st March 1853. S.A. Fraser, Clerk.”]
