Enslaved Persons Named: Minda and her children Cato, Adam, Lucy, Will and Maria

On June 24, 1836, Araminta Kershaw sold for $2000 to Robert C. Hines “the following negro slaves to wit Minda and her children Cato, Adam, Lucy, Will and Maria, six in number…” Hershaw said that she had made this contract “by the advice and consent of my brother Richard F. Baker.” Witnessed by Elizabeth Baker, David Zoucks, J.P. On September 29, 1849, R.C. Hines relinquished the above title to James F. Baker “the said James F. Baker having paid me value received for said property.” Witnessed by N. Bradley, J.S. Bradwell, Clerk. Recorded on October 2, 1849, by J.S. Bradwell, Clerk. 
[NOTE: This looked like Hershaw, but seems likely to have been Kershaw. Corrected on 8/1/2021.]
