Enslaved Persons Named: Scipio, Rose ann, Affy, Sibby, Daniel, Miley, Crawford, Fortune, London, Mariah, Sunday, Madison, Ben, Nero, ?Maul? [poss. Moll], Clarissa

On February 24, 1847, Henry H. Jones acknowledged receipt from his mother E.S.A. Jones, executrix of his father Joseph Jones’ estate, “the following amt in money, bank stock and land together with sixteen negro slaves to wit, Scipio, Rose Ann, Affy, Sibby, Daniel, Miley, Crawford, Fortune, London, Mariah, Sunday, Madison, Ben, Nero ?Maul? [alt: Moll?] and Clarissa, amounting to the sum of seven thousand six hundred and ninety six dollars forty six cents, also on plantation known as Lodebar…” Recorded on May 25, 1849, by J.S. Bradwell, Clerk.
