Enslaved Persons Named: Israel, Van Buren, John, Robert

On April 10, 1848, Elizabeth S.L. Jones, executrix for Joseph Jones, Liberty County, sold to James N. Jones for $800 “two negroe slaves named Isreal [alt: Israel] and Van Buren.” Witnessed at Walthourville by Joseph A. Anderson, W.O. Hart, and T.W. Quarteerman, J.P. Recorded on April 10, 1848, by J.S. Bradwell, Clerk. 

On April 10, 1848, in an apparent exchange, James N. Jones sold to Elizabeth S.L. Jones, executrix for Joseph Jones, for $800 “two negro slaves named John and Robert.” Witnessed by the same witnesses as above and recorded on April 11, 1848, by J.S. Bradwell, Clerk.
