Enslaved Persons Named: Sary, Barrack [alt: Barack], Nancy
On January 22, 1859, Dr. Samuel Way, Liberty County, used as collateral on a promissory note of $631.33 to Edward Quarterman, McIntosh County, agent for Rev. Richard Q. Way of China “the following negro slave Viz. Sary and her two children Barrack and Nancy, Sary about thirty years of age, Barrack a boy about eight years of age and Nancy a girl about five years of age together with the future issue and increase of the females.” Witnessed by S.M. Varnedoe, L.L. Varnedoe Not. Pub. Recorded on March 12, 1859, by S.A. Fraser, Clerk.
