On December 10, 1857, Edwin West Jones, Liberty County, sold to Henry H. Jones and A. Maybank Jones for $10,250 “the following negro slaves, viz. Cuffee, Sary, Frank, Jane, Elza, Titus, Nanny, Bacchus, Celia, Izra [alt: Ezra], Jane, Hardtimes, Billy, Sylvia, Elizabeth, Molly, John, Frederick, Sam, Friday, Bess.” Witnessed by W. S. Baker, E.J. Delegal. Probated by E.J. Delegal before W.S. Norman, Notary Public, on January 11, 1858, and recorded on January 15, 1858, by S.A. Fraser, Clerk. 

[NOTE: Document included the following appraisement of the enslaved people, performed by E.J. Delegal and W.S. Baker on December 10, 1857. The reason for the two columns of differing values that each add up to the same amount is not known. ]
