“Georgia, Liberty County } Received of Mrs. Mary Spencer the following negroes to wit Robert, Tom, Nanny, and Scipio, and the amount of money ($75) due to lot 5 from Lot No. 4 in exchange for the following negroes July, Isaac, Judy, L. Cate, Josephine and old Cudjoe and the amount due No. 4 ($175.00) from Lot No. 3. Signed Sealed & delivered. In presence of W.W. Spencer, W.S. Norman, Notary Public.” [Signed] Sarah S. Spencer. Recorded on June 7, 1856, by S.A. Fraser, C.S.C.L.C.
