On June 16, 1855, William F. Way, Liberty County, sold to William Q. Baker, also of Liberty County, for $500 “a certain female negro slave named Mary about fourteen years old.” Witnessed by David [can’t read last name], T.W. Quarterman, J.P. Recorded on June 19, 1855, by S.A. Fraser, Clerk.
