On March 1, 1855, Wm. [William] J. Way of Savannah, Georgia, used as collateral on a promissory note for $8040 to G.W. Walthour, trustee for Mrs. Mary E. Parson, “the following negro slaves to wit, Mike, Tenah, Anthony, Sampson, Kate, Jim, Plato, Hannah, Tom, Anak, Bess, Chatham, Sam, Chloe, Francis, William, Amelia, Sarah, Luseter (?), Lucretia, Judy, Jack, Rolls (?), Affy, Cakey, Juda and infant together with the issue and future increase of the female slaves.” Witnessed by C.
