Bill of Sale (Nisbet/Fleming)

Enslaved Persons Named: Racheal (alt: Rachael)

On June 7, 1854, Thomas C. Nisbet, Bibb County, sold to Thomas W. Fleming “a certain negro woman slave named Racheal for the sum of three hundred and fifty dollars.” Witnessed by Amos Benton J.P., William Fyfe. Recorded on June 20, 1854, by S.A. Fraser, Clerk. [NOTE: Simon A. Fraser was clerk in Liberty County, and Thomas W. Fleming also resided in Liberty County. Presumably Racheal (as spelled in the deed, alternative is Rachael) was moved from Bibb County to Liberty County.]
