Comments: The estate was apparently first inventoried in 1857, according to this document: “Inventory of the Estate of Mary M. Gilliland deceased, as conveyed to Wm. B. Gaulden by Trust deed of Susan R. Dudley dated sixteenth (16th) of January 1857, and which was received by him as Trustee about the last of January 1857. After the inventory appears this document: “Personally appeared Wm. B. Gaulden and Susan R. Dudley and Virginia C. Dudley, who being duly sworn saith on oath that the above is a just and true and full return of the property of Mary M. Gilliland deceased, conveyed to Wm. B. Gaulden Trustee, and by him taken possession of the first (1st) February 1857.” Sworn to before W.P. Girardeau, Ordinary, Liberty County, on 30 August 1859, and all not recorded until October 1863.
