On July 30, 1862, Thomas Q. Fleming, Liberty County, used as collateral on a debt of $300 to Peter W. Fleming, guardian of Robert H. Walthour, both of Liberty County, “the following named negro slaves viz Mary about thirty five years of age, Sarah about ten years, with their issue…”  Witnessed by J.S. Fleming, Jno. B. Mallard, J.I.C.L.C. Recorded on August 8, 1862, by S.A. Fraser.
