“Savannah February 4th, 1864. $3000.00. Received from Abial Winn three thousand dollars being in full for the purchase of three negro slaves named Clario, Abigadoh & Hannibal. The right and title of said slaves I warrant and defend against the claims of all persons whomsoever, and likewise warrant them sound and healthy.” [Signed by] Charles Spalding. Witnessed by F.L. ?Gue?, Notary Public, C.C. Recorded on March 9, 1864, by Jesse Brewer, Clerk.
