Enslaved Persons Named: Matilda, Sephas

On April 20, 1861, Edward J. Delegal, Liberty County, used as collateral for a debt of $500 to Peter W. Fleming, guardian for Taylor Walthour, both of Liberty County, “the following named negro slaves with the issue of the females (viz): Matilda, aged about twenty eight years,  Sephas, aged about fourteen years. Witnessed by Wm. M. Stevens, Josiah H. Law, J.S. Fleming. Probated by J.S. Fleming before Jno. B. Mallard, J.I.C.L.C., on April 23, 1861. Recorded on May 17, 1861, by Jesse Brewer, Clerk.
