Enslaved People Named: Beck, Rose, Cornelia, Andrew, Prince, Mitton [or Milton], William, Hannah, Edmond, Will, Rose Jun. Lucy, Cicily and Cuffee

On April 10, 1862, Edward C. Legriel, Chatham County, and Mary Lillian Anderson, McIntosh County, signed a marriage settlement, with E.J. Delegal, Wm. G. Thompson, and Wm. I. King, of Liberty County, as her trustees, agreeing that “the following named negro slaves to wit Beck, Rose, Cornelia, Andrew, Prince, Mitton [or Milton], William, Hannah, Edmond, Will, Rose Jun. Lucy, Cicily and Cuffee, now in the possession of the said Mary Lillian, and all other property that may be given said Mary Lillian, by her mother or other persons…” would remain her separate property. Witnessed by Edw. J. Thomas, E.?. Delegal Jr. Probated by E.W. Delegal before S.A. Fraser, C.S.C.L.C. on Mary 1, 1862. Recorded on May 12, 1862, by S.A. Fraser, Clerk.
