Mary A. Walthour, Liberty County, sold to William L. Walthour, also of Liberty County on February 6, 1861, for $10350 “the following named slaves with their future issue and increase of the females (viz). Sam, Reese, Sally, Sumner, Sary, Rebecca, Grace, Ritta, Eliza, Lindy, Daniel, Frank, David, Sarah, Stephen, Urias (Idiot), Tenah, Simon, Simon (Engineer), Morris, Ben, Annett, ?Gus?.” Witnessed on 7 March 1861 by E.M. Russell Jr., James D. McConnell, Notary Public. Recorded on 6 April 1861 by Jese Brewer, Clerk.
