Thomas W. Fleming, Liberty County, used eight slaves as security for a bond to Peter W. Fleming, guardian of Robert Walthour, both of Liberty County, on March 1, 1860: “the following negro slaves, with the issue of the females (viz): Jack aged 27 years, Caesar aged 21 years, Eliza aged 35 years & her children: John, Will, Gilbert, Hannah & Augustus.” Witnessed by A.M. McIver, W.S. Baker, W.L. Walthour, W.E.W. Quarterman, J.J.C.L.C. Recorded on April 27, 1860 by Jesse Brewer, Clerk. [Documented marked “Satisfied in Full this 8th April 1863. [Signed] P.W.
