Enslaved Persons Named: Big Sam, Little Sam, Tenah, Phoe [possibly Phoebe], Hetty.

Thomas W. Fleming, of Liberty County, used slaves as security for a bond to Peter W. Fleming, guardian of Taylor Walthour, also of Liberty County, on March 1, 1860: “Big Sam aged 25 years & Little Sam aged 14 years & Tenah aged 44 years & her children Phoe [? maybe supposed to be Phoebe] & Hetty.” Witnessed by A.M. McIver, W.S. Baker, W.D (or L.) Walthour, W.E.W. Quarterman, J.J. C.L.C. Recorded on April 21st [or 27th], 1860, by Jesse Brewer, Clerk. [Documented marked “Satisfied in Full this 8th April 1863. [Signed] P.W. Fleming, Guardian. Entered this 30th May 1863. S.A. Fraser, Clerk.”]
