John Perry gave to his son David Allen Perry “in consideration of the love and affection that I have [for him]” on March 10, 1860, “three negro slaves namely Peter a man worth one thousand dollars about thirty five years of age, Dick a man about twenty five years of age worth one thousand dollars and Hannah a girl eighteen years old worth eight hundred dollars together with all her issue or increase.” Witnessed by N.E.
