Andrew H. Thomas, Appling County, sold for $1000 to William Harrison, Liberty County, on April 24, 1856 “the following property to wit: A certain negro fellow, named Simon about [left blank] years old, about six feet high, of light complexion, which negro fellow I warrant to be sound and well, in body and mind, and to be a slave for life.” Witnessed by N. Smith, John M. Dasher, J.P. On May 17, 1856, Sarah Thomas, wife of Andrew H. Thomas, relinquished her rights to “the within mentioned property to wit: one negro man by name of Simon.” Witnessed by Sheldon N. Smith, John M. Dasher, J.P. Recorded on 14 July 1860 by Jesse Brewer, Clerk.
