Comments: The appraisers met on January 21, 1847, at “Bellmont, the residence of the late Lewis Hines.” First the enslaved persons were listed and appraised, then divided into 11 lots, along with pieces of estate property. Mrs. Hines selected lot #11, and lots #2, 4, 5, and 6 were retained for the 4 younger children of Lewis Hines. The other lots were drawn as follows:
