Will Summary (published 1964)
William Fraser of Liberty County. Last Will and Testament dated (blank) 1819. Codicil signed in Savannah June 13, 1820; probated March 5, 1821. He gives to the Liberty County Free School $50 annually until his estate is divided. Bequeaths $300.00 to be paid annually to the Southern Auxiliary Bible Society until estate is divided. Devises his estate except the above, to his wife MaryAnn and to their children, each child to receive his or her part when 21. If these all die single or before of age, then the estate to go to testator’s mother, the children of his brothers and sisters in Scotland and his brother Donald in this country. Executors: Donald Fraser and William Osgood. Witness: Peter F. Winn.
[Addition to 1964 abstract: He notes in the will that he and his wife had previously agreed in their marriage settlement that all the property she brought into the marriage would be hers when he died. Also directs his executors to make titles to Mr. Jedidiah Field to a tract of land he sold him containing 105 acres for $350 after he completes payment of the sum.]

No names left out, but a codicil dated 13 June 1820 in Savannah notes that his will was written before the loss of his child Donald, and that “thinking, from that circumstance, that it requires some alteration, I do hereby will to my wife Mary Ann one half of the negro property, to be wholly hers, during her life, & at her disposal at her death. He also wills her the plantation, with the use of everything on it, during her widowhood, but if she were to remarry, it would go entirely to his son Andrew. Witness: Jesse Ham. Codicil probated and recorded on 19 March 1821. Witnesses: John Stevens, J.S. Bradwell, Thomas Bacon, Thomas Mallard.
