Will Summary (published 1964)
Henry Austin of Bryan County, planter. Last Will and Testament dated May 27, 1818, probated October 16, 1821. Home plantation “Westfield” to go to his wife, Elizabeth for her lifetime then to their surviving children. Estate to be kept intact until youngest child is old enough to choose a guardian, then to be divided. He directs that a home in Sunbury be provided for his wife in order for the children (unnamed) to be educated. Executors: Thomas Young, George M. Waters, John Cubbedge, James Holmes, Samuel S. Law. Witnesses: Chauncey G. Lee, William Ward, Washington Winn.

He wants his “negro property” [no names given] to be held together for the use and benefit of his wife and children until his youngest child shall be old enough to choose a guardian, at which time they shall be divided between his wife and children, share and share alike, with his wife having the choice of her share.
