Enslaved Persons Named: Mary, Moses
On March 11, 1824, Jacob H. Dunham, Liberty County, used as collateral on a promissory note for $272.28 to Gardner Tufts & Elias Reed, merchants of Chatham County, “the following negro slaves, to wit, Mary, a black woman about forty two years of age & her son Moses, a yellow fellow, about twenty seven years of age.” Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on March 22, 1824.
