On July 18, 1823 James Lambright, Liberty County, used as collateral on a promissory note of $2362.65 to James A. Maxwell “my seven negro slaves, viz. Fortune, Charles, Peter, Ben, Mina, and her two children Tirah and Will…” Witnessed by Charles Dicks. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on November 14, 1823.
