On February 24, 1838, Richard F. Axson, Liberty County, used as collateral on a promissory note of $1500 to R & W King (the firm of Ralph King, William King & Bayard E. Hand) “the following slaves named Rhina, Toby, Robin, George, & Caty, with the future issue and increase of the females…” Witnessed by Jos. [Joseph] Cunningham Jun. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on May 4, 1838. [NOTE: Deed marked as satisfied in full. Satisfaction recorded on May 8, 1841.]
