On June 31, 1836, Abiel Winn, Liberty County, used as collateral on a promissory note of $1812.72 to Ralph King, William King and Bayard E. Hand, partners doing business under the name R & W King “the following Slaves named Sam, Peggy, Prince, Mary, Cretia, Nelly and Isaac.” Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on May 16, 1837. [NOTE: Satisfaction acknowledged as of March 17, 1840. Satisfaction recorded on April 1, 1840.]
