Joseph Jones, administrator of the estate of William Anderson, certified that he had received from Colonel Artemas Baker “a draft on George Anderson Esqr factor in Savannah for the sum of six hundred dollars payable at sight to Joseph Jones or bearer dated November the fifth 1836 which when duly paid will be in full for the purchase of a certain negro fellow named Toney cripled [SIC] in one arm sold as the property of the Estate of the late William Anderson deceased by and with the consent of the heirs of said Estate…” Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on December 1, 1836.
