On June 28, 1836, John S. Fraser, planter of Liberty County, used as collateral on a promissory note of $2501.93 to George W. Walthour, also of Liberty County, “ten certain negro slaves viz. Agrippa, Billy, Phoebe, John, Lucy, Handy, (Big) Joe (or Catoe) Sary, Ben & Amelia…” Witnessed by Wm. [William] Q. Baker, J.I.C.L.C. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on July 20, 1836.
